Victorian Sterling Silver Fob w/ Double Heart Motif

A gorgeous sterling silver fob from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful and unusual piece is a sterling silver open wirework fob that has a smooth stamp bottom. The design is simple yet lovely with scrolled sides and a double heart design in the center, which appears on both sides. The hearts have a textured surface and a shield-like shape in the center of each. The bottom of the fob has a simple etched design that carries around the entire base. At the top of the piece is sterling bail which attaches to 2 rings, both being different in size. The rings have an unusual twist-off design in which you can remove them easily from one another, almost like a modern day key chain. The larger of the 2 rings is marked twice, one stamp appears to be a hallmark in the shape of a dagger and the other is not legible to me; please refer to the photographs. This beautiful piece would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The fob hangs 2 1/4" at the tallest point, is 1 1/4" at the widest and is a little less than 3/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the fob pendant is excellent. One side of the fob appears to be pushed in slightly however this is not noticeable when worn. Besides normal surface wear, there is no other apparent damage to the silver and the twist-off rings are secure and in good working condition.
